Longbay Recount. Caroline

Yippy, on Tuesday the 1st of April 2014 it was a beautiful bright sunny day. Room 9&7 and parent helpers and also teachers got gathered in the school hall to have a chat about our school trip. We were wearing mufty.

Firstly, we all went in the bus. Then Mrs Parker Tofa told us to sit in threes. Next we hopped off. We all went under a big Fale with a lot of decorations on it. In that fale we had a little chat and got introduced to our City Council tutors about the Longbay. Sarah said no one is allowed to take any animals because it's safe living at Longbay.

Next we got split into 3 groups. Group 1 was with Shan and I was with group 1. With Shan we had to vote where we going for hiking and then we chose Nature Trail. In our hiking we had to spray our legs because we need to keep the Kauri trees safe. We also viewed a few other native trees of New Zealand such as Puriri, Kowhai and Tea tree as well.

Second we went and built up a camp tent and we cooked sausages. Finally we got to go in our last session where we had a relay. We also had fun when we had to make a stretcher our of woolen jumpers. We had to put one of us on to test it out.

Finally at the end, I felt so exhausted that I never wanted to stand up. We caught the bus back to school and mostly everyone had fallen asleep.
